The Best Hand Original Art / Playing Cards

I found these cards in a charity shop in Stevenage. They were filthy. Oily, worn, the kind of deck that's been through years of use and never cleaned. I'm guessing they were used by mechanics. They're beautiful for it.

I screen printed straight onto them. Then came the enamel paints, the inks, the scalpel work — scraping back into the surface to pull the numbers back up through the paint. Some have bronze and gold worked into them. Some have colour pushed into the edges until it bled into something unexpected. Each one went its own way.

No two are the same.
