The Summer Heat (Originals)

Summer Heat.

Studies for a larger series I'll be building over winter.

Photographs of flowers I've been taking since February, watching the season turn, printed onto paper that's been hand stained first. An iron and vinegar mix straight onto wet Somerset Satin, dried, then screen printed on top. After that I kept working the circles round and round until they sat where I wanted them.

Some are minimal. Some have gone the other way, blue and gold glitter, a lot going on. I'm properly pleased with every one of them.

The yellow line went in last, hand drawn onto each print. That's when they came alive.

300 x 300mm. 410gsm Somerset Satin.
