Copper doesn't just sit there. It moves. Breathes. Changes colour with every passing month.
This one-off original started as a flat sheet of copper — the kind you'd find wrapped around church roofs or lining old gutters. But instead of weathering slowly in rain and wind, it's been deliberately oxidised. Forced to age. The patina that emerges is never the same twice. Green blooms where it wants to. Brown stains settle in unexpected places. The metal decides its own character.
Then the print goes on top. Abstract atomic imagery — circles within circles, energy made visible. The kind of diagrams you'd find in a 1960s physics textbook, when splitting the atom still felt like magic rather than threat. Collage elements add another layer. Visual noise that somehow makes sense when it sits against the shifting copper background.
The varnish overlay seals it all in. Protects the surface but doesn't stop the oxidation entirely. This piece will keep changing. Slowly. Imperceptibly. In five years it won't look exactly the same as it does today.
That's the point.
Most prints are fixed things. Stable. Predictable. This one has a half-life. The copper beneath is still alive, still reacting to air and moisture and time. You're not just buying a finished artwork — you're buying something that will continue to evolve.
The format is deliberately small. 115 x 205mm. About the size of a paperback book. It wants to be seen up close, where you can catch the texture of the oxidised surface and watch how the printed elements play against the metal's natural grain.
It's signed on the back — pen on copper, which leaves its own kind of mark.
This is for collectors who understand that the best work keeps revealing itself. Who know that copper and time make their own kind of art. Who want something that refuses to stay still.
