Each Paradise Light Box is built by hand in the Kimpton studio. Stained bamboo case. Acrylic front panel. LED strip that'll run for 50,000 hours — longer than most of us have left. The back panel detaches if anything goes wrong, though it shouldn't.
I wanted something that could hang on a wall or sit on a shelf. Something that changed how a room felt when the days got shorter. The 2-metre vintage cable gives you options — find the socket, find the spot.
This isn't reproduction furniture or mass-market mood lighting. It's a one-off idea made real in a village workshop. Ten boxes total. Each one signed, dated, numbered. When they're gone, they're gone.
The light itself is warm, not clinical. Soft enough for evening, bright enough to matter. I've had the prototype running in the studio for months now — it's the first thing I switch on when I arrive, last thing to go off when I leave.
These boxes exist because I saw something on a London street and couldn't let it go. Because sometimes the best ideas come from looking up instead of ahead. Because a room needs more than overhead bulbs and table lamps.
