Six layers of ink pulled by hand to catch that first proper day of spring. The kind where you step outside and everything feels possible again.
This is about that moment when winter finally breaks. Not the calendar date — the real moment. When the light changes and the air smells different and you remember what warmth feels like. It's that surge of pure relief that comes after months of grey.
Each layer builds the celebration. Base colours establishing the foundation, mid-tones adding complexity, highlights bringing the joy to the surface. The registration has to be perfect — six passes through the press, each one adding to the story. The kind of work that demands complete attention because there's no going back once the squeegee moves.
Two expressions of the same feeling. The yellow version stays clean and bright — pure optimism in ink form. All the joy with none of the fuss. The gold glitter variant takes it further. Adds texture you can feel under your fingers. Light that shifts as you walk past. The kind of surface that makes you want to touch it even though you know you shouldn't.
Hand-pulled screenprinting is slow work. Deliberate work. Each print gets the same attention as the first. The squeegee pressure stays consistent. The ink coverage stays even. The registration stays tight. Twenty prints maximum because that's what the edition calls for and that's where it stops.
300x165mm on 400gsm stock that can handle the ink load. Editioned and signed because every piece that leaves the studio gets marked properly. Sold unframed because you know what works in your space better than anyone else does.
This isn't gallery art trying to be important. It's direct work about a feeling everyone recognises. For people who understand that the best celebrations are the quiet ones. Who know that spring hits different when you've properly earned it.
