Every morning on the drive to the studio, the daffodils are out. They line the verges, bright and unapologetic, and they mark the shift—winter's done. This piece came from that. The gold glitter isn't decorative, it's deliberate—it's the light hitting them at 8am, the way they refuse to be ignored. Spring doesn't announce itself quietly, and neither do daffodils.

Five layers of hand-pulled screenprint build the image. Yellow for the flower heads. Green for the stems and grass. Each layer registered by eye, pulled by hand. The glitter comes last—real gold particles mixed into the ink, applied where the light should catch. It's not smooth. It's not meant to be. When you move past it, the surface shifts. That's the point.

This is edition of nine. Each print carries the marks of the process—slight shifts in registration, variations in the ink coverage, the way the glitter settles differently each time. No two are identical because hand-pulling doesn't work that way. The paper takes what it takes. The squeegee leaves what it leaves.

The work gets mounted to board before it leaves the studio. Archival process, lightfast inks. It'll outlast the daffodils that inspired it. Sold unframed because frames are personal—what works in my studio might not work in your space. A float mount would suit it, but that's your call.
